Spider plays an Overton which is still available I believe. I played one in Dublin in 1993 and they sound good, just can’t tune them.

Eventually, throw away that “Generation” whistle! They suck when trying to get to the upper octaves plus the sound is weak and unstable!! AS far as the player –Good playing!! keep practicing, just get yourself a better whistle when you feel comfortable!!

Dude you rock more pogues please. ps meneermalik’s comment about the whistle’s is utter poop If those tin whistle brands were so cack they wouldn’t have lasted this long nor have been so popular with proffessional musicians.

good job. You’d improve 50% if you were to play on a different whistle. Stay away from generation, Feadog and like brands. A good lower end whistle that cost about $9-10 is Oak. On these lower end whistles is really hit or miss, even from one whistle to another in the same brand but Oak has a higher consistency. best of luck. Keep it up.

Or, you can buy a “tweaked” Clarke Sweetone for about 25 bucks. I find they are far superior to the Gens or Waltons. They don’t sound quite as nice as the Clarke with the wooden mouthpiece, but they also take a lot less air and are guaranteed “in tune” and are tunable as well.
