My husband is thinking about getting into the business and I know he has to take the courses to get licensed, but then he would be licensed as an Appraiser Trainee and I don’t know if he would be able to obtain employment with a company as a trainee and still be getting paid or how any of this works. Anyone have any useful information on the topic?

I have owned my own real estate appraisal company for 5 years and I am looking to get a higher paying/more secure job in banking and finance. Where should I look and what can I do. The ups and downs of appraisals is really getting to me. These recent changes are mostly due to HVCC and other government intervention. I am hard working, dependable, and honest and recently my income has been reduced by 75%.

I’m 21 years old and going to school to become a civil engineer. I am currently working for a engineering contractor company and have a lot of experience in the construction field.I’ve always loved real estate till the market got bad. I plan on getting my real estate sales associate license in January here in Miami, Florida by doing a 4 week course at a real estate school.Can I somehow tie the civil engineering to real estate career as well. Also if I get a job as a real estate sales associate would I have enough time to continue my schooling for my civil engineering degree?
I am a people person and love to persuade people. I also believe I have a lot of wealthy contacts from working in the construction industry currently. Just want to get some feed back from you guys and see what you guys think.

I get paid? I have also heard that finding a licensed appraiser to sponsor me through my training is very difficult. Is that the case?

To have a real estate business that includes the real estate office, escrow, title, appraisal, and maybe later on a bank all under one person. Maybe all in one building (a big building, not crammed up) I have never heard of anything like this so i wanted to know if it is legal. I want to be the person to do it.
I know there are several licenses to get but im 19, ill get them quick.I am in school at the university level for real esate and finance by the way.

Can anyone tell me what kind of school you need to become a real estate appraiser? I am trying to figure out if I need a degree from college before I go on to get a licence. And also what types of classes should I be taking during college or are there any that are required for the state of Iowa. Also are there any schools to become an appraiser that are not online. I can only find classes online and I dont want that. Thanks!
Career as a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser ?

I have a background in Real estate lending, residential wholesale and retail but am considering a move to the commercial side as an appraiser. I am currently located in Chicago which I feel is about the best place I could be for this line of work.
Does anyone know what I have to do as far as mentoring, internship, etc? I know I have to take classes and such, but from what I have read it seems I must also “shadow” a licensed appraiser or become an assistant to one for a certain amount of time before I can get a license.
Also, does anyone know what to expect as far as salary and or commission for this position? Would I work for a firm and get assigned jobs, or would I be looking for my own work?

I am taking classes to lead to my state license for residential real estate appraisal. A long term goal of mine is to specialize in appraising property in disaster areas. These could be areas hit by sunami, tornado, hurricane, terrorist, ect. I was wondering if anyone knew of a school that taught this narrow field of appraisal.

I am interested in starting a career in Commercial and residential appraisal. I am confused though as to what steps that I should take to get there. I just got my Real Estate Appraiser Trainee License, but I can’t seem to find any Appraisers who are willing to take on trainees so that I can accumulate my experience hours. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am in the So. Cal. area, if there are any appraisers out there who are willing.
